Painless root canal treatment in Mangaldai

A root canal saves a tooth whose nerve is infected or dying, so you keep your own tooth instead of losing it. Dr. Dhyan Saharia trained in root canal treatment (endodontics) in Delhi, and he numbs the tooth fully before he starts.

Signs you may need a root canal

  • Toothache that wakes you at night or lingers after hot or cold food
  • Pain when you bite or chew on one tooth
  • A swollen gum, or a pimple-like bump near a tooth
  • A tooth that has turned dark after a knock
  • Deep decay or a large old filling that has started to hurt

How we do it

  1. Check and X-ray

We examine the tooth and take a digital X-ray in the clinic to see how deep the decay goes.

  2. Numb the tooth

Local anaesthesia means you feel pressure, not pain.

  3. Clean the canals

The infected nerve is removed, and the canals are cleaned and shaped with rotary instruments.

  4. Seal the tooth

The canals are filled and sealed, and the tooth is closed. Back teeth often need a cap (crown) afterwards so they do not crack.

How many visits

Most cases take one or two sittings. A badly infected tooth may need an extra visit to settle the infection first.

After your treatment

  • Avoid chewing hard food on that side until the final filling or cap is in place.
  • Mild soreness for a day or two is normal. Tell us if swelling or pain gets worse.
  • Brush and floss as usual.

Common questions

Is a root canal painful?

The tooth is numbed with local anaesthesia, so you feel pressure rather than pain. If you are nervous, tell Dr. Saharia: he explains each step before he starts and takes his time with nervous patients.

How many visits does a root canal take?

Most cases take one or two sittings. A badly infected tooth may need an extra visit to settle the infection first.

Is it better to just remove the tooth?

Keeping your own tooth is usually better for chewing and for the teeth around it. Dr. Saharia checks the X-ray and tells you plainly whether the tooth can be saved.

Do I need a cap after a root canal?

Back teeth usually do, because a treated tooth can become brittle. Front teeth can often manage with a filling alone. You will know before you decide.
